I found it…
The sweeeeetest lil tea room my eyes have ever seen!
Situated in Maboneng, Johannesburg, the Yswara Tea Room defs tops my list of ‘places to visit’ in my hometown. For those of you unfamiliar with Maboneng, it really is the most up-and-coming location in JHB. Such trendy vibes all ’round. The streets are lined with artisan coffee shops, vegan restaurant infusions, and buzzing bars… with views of the city itself. And of course, a lil tea room in and amongst it all. So cute & quaint. They have a huuuuge range of herbal teas to make all my wildest tea dreams come true. Their herbal infusions of African spices & Asian herbs are just everything. The staff are also so informative about the health benefits of each tea. And can we just take a moment for the ‘elephant in the room’ here… I mean, how adorable is this decor?! Bronze, rose gold, pinky hues (with teapots & cups to match). Just SPECTACULAR really.
So I kinda planned my outfit ahead of time… I checked up on the tea room beforehand and so I decided that pretty in pink was the order of the day. I wanted to really bring boldness to this outfit. Low and behold: the duster coat. This pop of colour is everythiiiiing. And also the most-fashionable way to make sure you’re not too exposed when strolling the town streets. It breaks the monotone palette too and brings a less-serious feel to the look.
I kitted out this outfit with my new vinyl skirt from Topshop (the front zip kinda gives me anxiety haha… don’t flash anybody please…. but the look & feels are too edgy to leave this skirt aside!) A white tee is literally the easiest item to style. Tuck it in for a more preppy look or even tie a lil knot in front (like me) for an effortless, loose crop-top look. The pearl detail also just brings an extra fab element into the outfit. Platform sequin sneakers to add -literally had these bad boys for yearssss- and a wavy, high pony to match.
